Brett sent me an email a couple days back. All it contained was a link to one of Google&#8217;s new projects: &#8220;Mail Goggles&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/gmailblog.blogspot.com\/2008\/10\/new-in-labs-stop-sending-mail-you-later.html\" target=\"_blank\">Gmail&#8217;s blog<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you&#8217;re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you&#8217;re in the right state of mind?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-373 aligncenter\" title=\"Mail Goggles\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.jedbrubaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/mail_goggles.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.whatknows.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/mail_goggles.png 505w, https:\/\/www.whatknows.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/mail_goggles-300x153.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2008\/10\/07\/april-fools-check-did-google-really-release-mail-goggles\/\" target=\"_blank\">TechCrunch<\/a> points out, it is far from fool-proof:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>There are two problems with the product. First, I hate math. Second, if I want to send a drunken email, and all that\u2019s standing between me and success are a few math problems, I\u2019m gonna go find that calculator.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And of course what about Twitter, IM, or the infamous drunk Facebook wall posting?
