Project sponsored by the Functional Family Therapy Research Group, funded by a NIDA grant from the NIH.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Narrative Socialization in Young Gay Men<br \/>\n<\/strong> Principal Investigator, January 2003 \u2013 May 2004<br \/>\nUniversity of Utah, Department of Psychology<br \/>\nSenior Thesis Project conducted under the advisement of Monisha Pasupathi, Ph.D. &#8220;Coming Out with Stories: Macrocontextual effects on the coming out stories of young gay men.&#8221; Conducted an empirical study including proposal, theoretical justification, IRB approval for research on human subjects, data collection, analysis and thesis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sexual Identity Development in Adult Women<br \/>\n<\/strong> Research Assistant, January 2003 \u2013 December 2003<br \/>\nUniversity of Utah, Department of Psychology<br \/>\nUnder direction of Lisa Diamond, Ph.D. assisted with longitudinal research of sexual identity. Duties: transcription and coding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Functional Family Therapy Project<br \/>\n<\/strong> Research Assistant\/Leader, May 2002 \u2013 December 2003<br \/>\nUniversity of Utah, Department of Psychology<br \/>\nUnder the direction of James Alexander, Ph.D., assisted with research on systemic therapies and techniques for court referred delinquent adolescents. Duties: coding system development, coding, coder training, computer programming and project management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Service Project in Social Psychology<br \/>\n<\/strong> Student Researcher, August 2002 \u2013 May 2003<br \/>\nUniversity of Utah, Department of Psychology<br \/>\nCollaboratively proposed and conducted an original project with fellow students under the supervision of Carol Sansone, Ph.D. Duties: hypothesis and testing methodology; survey development and conduction; data input and analysis using SPSS; written report and presentation for Crossroads Urban Center.<\/p>\n<h4>Teaching Experience<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Teaching Assistant, Communication Theories and Frameworks (Fall 2008)<br \/>\n<\/strong> CCTP 752, Georgetown University<br \/>\nTaught by Dr. Jeanine Turner, this course provided a graduate level survey of theories from the field of Communication. Ran online coursework, taught lecture on computer mediated communication, and performed other duties as requested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical Instructor, NetCom (2005-2006)<br \/>\n<\/strong> Topics Included: PHP, Zend, OO (Basic-Advanced), SOA, AJAX, XML, Web Analytics, Basic Web Programming<br \/>\nAs a contracted instructor, I provided custom technical courses to various corporations. Designed and delivered coursework and student assessments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructor, Research Methods in Abnormal Psychology (Spring 2004, Fall 2004)<br \/>\n<\/strong> PSYCH 3900, University of Utah<br \/>\nThis course taught students about applied aspects of research process including coding and data analysis by providing applied research experience. Supplemental course to Abnormal Psychology, taught by James Alexander, Ph.D.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructor, Service Learning in Abnormal Child Psychology (Fall 2003)<br \/>\n<\/strong> PSYCH 3904, University of Utah<br \/>\nThe course provided students with first hand clinical experience in the area of Abnormal Child Psychology. Coordinated student placement in local clinical settings; conducted all course work including lectures, assignments, and grading.
